The Home Stretch
Only three pieces of laminate left to install.
Okay three pieces of laminate and approximately 98 linear feet of quarter round. Nonetheless, my new living room floor ROCKS.
Begone, random stains and foul doggie odor! Farewell, panicked purchases of stain removal and Capture!
I am off to contemplate the cost of installing this in both bedrooms next.
Oh, and to purchase a lifetime supply of Swiffer dry pads (generic) at Ye Olde Dolla Tree.

Congratulations! I've been blessed to have houses with hardwood floors, but I'd go with anything but carpet. I'm sure it's lovely.... pictures?
Yep, photos are in order. We have hardwoods in 2 rooms, but I'd love to have them everywhere, especially if it meant I could do without all this dirty, matted carpet I see before me.
I love carpet, I think of the warmth in the winter as opposed to cold wood floors. But with small children (grandchild) and pets, my carpets take such a beating - not to mention the sweeper. arghhh!!
I must say this now - invest in a swivel sweeper (as seen on TV!) because it really is worth it. You can use it and then just do the DUST with the swiffer...
I don't like my broom anymore!
I have replaced the carpets with laminate in the two main bedrooms. The carpets were escapees from the 1970's. I'm talkin' shag here. Complete with a little rake with which to comb it. Burns orange in one bedroom, Purple in the other.
My sense of style let out a huge sigh of relief.
We put laminate down in the front part of our house a couple of years ago and the best thing is the absence of doggy odor now. I love it!
We love our hardwood floors, but kept carpet in the bedrooms (even though the hardwood floors lurk under there as well). Who knows...maybe someday those will become carpet free, too! Pictures, please.
I flove swiffer wetjets on my hardwood floors. :-)
Woot! Now you can get a lovely rug for the cozy factor...any color you want, and it's CHANGEABLE!
Yay!
You will NEVER regret the switch! With 3 dogs and now a baby, I do floors everyday. Because we have hardwood, I swiffer and call it good. IN FIVE MINUTES.
My two cents? Once a week, vac up the "bits" then wet mop (swiffer, whatever) and then buff with a dry cloth (again, swiffer, etc.) and your floors will sparkle.
I third or fourth the motion...pictures, please.
