I Hate Jimmy Neutron

I have spent the past 3 1/2 days glued to my residence. I have not become a hermit, nor become agoraphobic, and I remain gainfully employed.

I do, however, have a relatively sick 6 year old, who insists that her Momma not move more than 3 feet from her feverish head. There is much moaning, much sniffling, much whining.

There is also the eternal presence of the blasphemy known as Nickelodeon. I have endured endless hours of Spongebob Squarepants, Teen Nick - and the cursed Jimmy Neutron.

Don't get me wrong; I generally enjoy this programming. Whether due to the enjoyment of watching Nooze - or from my own stunted humor, I am not sure. It would seem, however, that even I have my limits.

I have watched the entire series in one short weekend.

Did you know, for example, that Christian Slater (aka Jet Fusion) has a recurring role on this program? Or that Wendy Malick (aka Beautiful Gorgeous) also guest stars? What about Tim Curry (aka Professor Finbarr Calamitous)?! I know. Because I have watched this all weekend long.

I am to that delicate point, my beloved friends. My head is thumping, and a heavy hammer is well within reach. Jimmy Neutron must die.

I'm with you on this. It's entertaining sometimes... but sheesh, there's only so much one can take. Had a lazy Sunday, and the kiddos, even in their teens, can soak in an awful lot of that stuff.

I sympathize. V. is 14 now, so it's not so much the cartoons as it is MTV and the like.

Wow, you guys are cranky today, aren't you?
My favorite is the one where the pants try to take over the town.

I hate today's cartoons. They have ruined my wonderful, wonderful memories of Saturday mornings with my blanket and cereal.

I didn't get to watch cartoons as a kid (except for an occaisional Josie and the Pussycats..) that's yet another section of the 3 part miniseries of my bad childhood. I never really paid attention to the JN thing, I guess I'll get my chance tomorrow seeing as to how I'm coming down with strep throat... I much prefer SpongeBob - if you pay close attention, Patrick gets some pretty mature lines ;o) Or maybe I'm just glad we're over the Pokemon & Yu-gi-oh stage of Firstborn's tv watching (that stuff makes ANYTHING look better!!!)

I'll show my age and remember the agony of repeatedly watching Sesame Street do the illustration of NEAR!.......FAR!.......NEAR!........FAR!.......

When mine graduated to the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and the live action Power Rangers, it was good, mostly, sort of.

The only thing I know about Jimmy Neutron is that I have a crush on his mom.

Does that make me weird? If so, I won't even tell you about Jane Jetson or Jessica Rabbit.

I knew all of that. And I don't have a sick child. In fact, my youngest is 13. I know this only by my own viewing habits.

This makes me hip, retarded, and/or pathetic.

But it's still better than watching Law and Order or CSI.
