Uhhh
Nooze just asked why women need to open their legs when babies are born.
I exhaled slowly, and explained that it was a necessary part of childbirth.
She then asked how a woman could have TWINS. Before I could stop myself, I blurted something out about how an egg splits to create two human beings (identical twins) - rather than one.
Now my kid is walking through the house, grasping her thighs tightly with her hands...and glancing at the refrigerator with concern.
Sigh.
I'd keep talking if I thought it would help.

You are in SO much trouble. Feel free to tease me when my daughter reaches that age and asks the same questions.
I know someone who was afraid to have her eggs harvested and frozen because she was afraid they'd break. Yeah.....
Good luck with explaining the mysteries of life.
It is indisputable that girls are on the "WTF?!" end of sex education. The beginning of awareness is a shock.
Rest assured. She will be fine, because her parents are incredible at their jobs. She is learning, and learning well. All growth comes with pain. All we can hope is that our teachers are honest and loving.
In this case, everybody wins. Especially the human race. Good job.

the adopted one......
The best part is that she is asking YOU her questions - and not some friend who is as clueless as she - or worse, someone who knows far more than she should!
Bwahahahaha!
Tag - you're it!!! This is the most grueling part of parenthood. But somehow we all manage to survive tripping over our tongues and trying not to be too explicit, but again, providing our children with knowledge. Rots of ruck!!!!
She'll never look at an omlette the same way again. LOL... The good news is she talking to you when she has questions.
Oops...
Girls have so much more to keep track of. It's a pity. We'd be so much happier if it were all a touch less complicated, wouldn't we? :)
I keep laughing so hard when I read this that I truly have nothing to say.
Oh my gosh! That is incredible - heck of a jumping off point. I second Kenju as well.
(And am taking notes for that day a few years from now when I get asked a similar question...)
