Paging Mr. Drysdale...

Much to my surprise, local radio stations have not yet killed my love for Paralyzer by Finger Eleven.

As a result, I watch the YouTube video quite often.

As I watched it the other day for the millionth time, Nooze stood silently and watched it with me. She turned to me, grinned, and said "Momma. It looks like they're fixin' to Rassle!"

Rassle?!

Chachi and I are attempting to raise a well-rounded, proper child. We play games. We read. We work on math. We even place emphasis on diction, pronunciation and proper grammar. The last three have gone unheeded.

In spite of our efforts, we are raising Elly Mae Clampett.

Rassling's okay. Now if she starts getting into NASCAR, we might need to send her to Southern rehab.

Awww. I love little kids with Southern accents. I catch Buddy from time to time say something *really* like a West Virginian.

My daughter spent a lot of time at the home of some neighbors and good friends when she was small. She started repeating a lot of things their mother said a lot, such as ..."I'm fixin' to....." and "I swannee! I am southern, and I have a noticable twang in my voice, but I draw the line at most of those southernisms.....LOL

You cannot stop it, for you live in Tarnation, and it's expected.

THe only cure is to mvoe to Cary, where there are mostly Yankees who talk all funny-like.

And it's STILL hot in Topeka, dagnabbit.

I don't know what's funnier...fixin' or rassle. ;)Fixin' is one of those words that I try my hardest NOT to say....but sometimes it just slips out. (and then I cringe a little bit!) Thanks for the birthday wishes earlier this week!
