Was that a Bogey or a Booger?

I survived the Golf Tournament. Surprisingly, some portions were actually enjoyable.

Take, for example, the commute. Due to the location of the Tournament, my standard commute time was cut down to 20 minutes. It would have taken less time, but it was raining. Believe me, no one complained that I was 10 minutes late...

Registration was also much more entertaining than I expected. See, apparently Destrukto Corp. mixed things up a little (on purpose) in the teams arena. My co-worker (the Polly Pocket Pit Bull) re-built teams across company lines, based on personality and ability. Most people arrived with pre-conceived ideas on who their teams were. The 'surprise' was not always a pleasant one.

My favorite quote of the morning occurred about 15 minutes into registration. Guest ZQA from Vendor 080 read his team list and blurted out "Oh, WONDERFUL. I get to golf with a drunk and an a--hole today!"

Surprised to find myself at a loss for words, I grinned and blurted, "Well, okay! Have fun then!"

It's not like I could disagree with him. I'd read the names; he wasn't lying on either count.

I also had the opportunity to visit the 9th hole, where a hole in one would have resulted in winning a very suh-weet car. *(Nobody won...) During my visit, I had the pleasure of seeing one of my least favorite people wiff a ball straight into a sand trap. I turned away from him, and almost ran smack into the chest...of my [male] co-worker [Sugar Britches].

He mistook my bitten lip as a sign of pain, and expressed concern. He called over my boss to check on me...

...and I was forced to confess joy over a jerk getting his come-uppance on the green...in front of 23 other people.

My boss and co-worker shared in my joy, and I returned to the Clubhouse for my 45th cup of coffee: Pumpkin Spice from Starbucks.

The best part? I was home before 4 pm!

So, will we be awake all night then? If I had 45 cups of Starbucks, I wouldn't sleep for 90 days.

I am amazed that you were at a loss for words. I cannot imagine that....LOL
