Reunited....

Our family reunion was on Sunday afternoon. It took place at the residence of my neurotic, dramatic, DEMOCRAT cousin. It was an experience not soon forgotten, I assure you.

Neurotic Cousin lives in a compound cabin
REMOTE AREA, surrounded by fields and trees and many mosquitoes. It was a bittersweet reunion, as it was with the extended family of my mother. Most of my cousins were there, along with all aunts and uncles. Much food was consumed, and included gems such as Knox Blox, Moldy Salad...and Whoopie Pie Brownies with Peanut Butter filling. (Yes, Jules, I will be making this at our next meeting!)

Alternate beverages were consumed by the Harley Riders, behind the truck and trees, next to the Compost Pile...away from the prying eyes of children. The Straight and Narrow folks consumed three pots of coffee, Moxie, and fruit punch with Orange Sherbet in it. It was great fun.

The reunion began with torrential rain, lightning - and thunder. We were scheduled to have our lunch under a canopy in the yard. The wind was blowing so wildly that the barrier, held up with clothespins, blew off the canopy. Rain proceeded to hit all of the food at top speed. Thank the Lord for Tupperware and tin foil. Most of the food was safe from the weather.

Just as we were contemplating a move to the Cellar of Cousin Neurotic, the storm broke. Family scattered like cockroaches, out into the sun and the fields. Food was redistributed to tables, and chairs were wiped off.

Much gossip family news was discussed, and laughter and tears were shared.

The most controversial news came from my cousin, Gorgeous Creative Man. It seems that, after years in the Boston Theatre District, he has hit the Big Time. After 2 months of summer camp, GCM will return to Boston/NYC to begin rehearsals before hitting the road on Tour...

...As one of the Doodlebops.

Renn, I had never heard of the Doodlebops, but I listened to a few of their songs. I bet my young granddaughters would love them!! That may not be "bigtime", but it could lead to it! LOL

Sorry about all the rain, but glad it quit so you could enjoy your family. Is that the right word? Enjoy? LOL

The Doodlebops are BIG in this house... so which one will your cousin be? Rooney or Mo? (or as my hubby says DeeDee, Mo and the other mo - no insult intended to your cousin, by the way!)

I do like their music, they're pretty cool. My kids can discern the "old" and "new" doodlebops (DeeDee's hair is MUCH different now). That's how much we like 'em here - better than that fat old dinosaur, in any case!

I used to love family reunions until I realized all the women would gather into little groups and discuss who was fat, who got dumped by whom, etc. I hope your family is nicer than mine is.

So, did you hear the opening strains of "Deliverance" at any time?

I love family reunions, it reminds you where you came from.

"alternate" beverages are the cost of admission at my family reunions; otherwise there are likely to be stabbings, or gunfire.

Doodlebops?
That looks like revenge for ever doing LSD.
Not that I know, just heard.

WOW! A Doodlebop? That's HUGE! Kinda like Barney on crack.

Ditto on Deliverance.

I shall not speak of the doodlebops, for they frighten me in a most unholy way ("scary beyond all reason," anyone?)

The rest of the story sounds awesom, moldy sallit included.

Cut that hair yet?
