Dine to Five

Alright, alright. I'll admit that the title is cheesy.

Regardless, the following list is for Belle of the Blog, who tagged me to list my top five local restaurants.

The rules, as I understand them, consist of the following:

1. Link the person who tagged you . (check)
2. Include the state/country that you live in
3. List your top five favorite local restaurants.
4. Tag five other people to participate.

Hm. Okay. I live in North Carolina. Last time I checked, it was located in the southeastern United States.

Without further ado, my top five favorite places to dine:

1. Don Murray's BBQ and Seafood - Raleigh, NC. I don't go for the 'cue, people. I go for the LIMA BEANS. Don't think I'm kidding. They are soaked in sugar and melt in your mouth. I like to think of them as chocolate free M&Ms.

2. Carmen's Cuban Cafe and Lounge - Morrisville, NC. I don't have a favorite food here. I like it all. If pressed, I could probably survive on the appetizers alone.

3. Greek Fiesta - Cary, NC. So it's a chain. WHATEVER. I could almost live on the hummus and pita.

4. Sushi-Thai - Raleigh, NC. They have Dollar Sushi Night. If you prefer to eat something else, they also serve 'traditional' Asian food. I'm plenty happy with the Dollar Sushi...

5. Oh'Mulligans - Morrisville, NC. This is technically a Sports Bar, but the food rocks. They make their own potato chips, people.

I realize that I am supposed to pass this along to others. However, I am not particularly good at following directions. As a result, I leave you with the following: If you live in the RTP/Eastern NC area, please leave Intel on OTHER great places to eat. The Family and I are always up for something new.

If you know of places in YOUR area, and you choose to compose your own list, please let me know.

Lima beans, mmmmmm good. I make them at home once in a while with cream, butter and pepper. No one will eat them but me. Ruins the whole eatin' good vegetable thing but they are most delicious.

I've been to Murray's, of course, but not to any other place you mentioned. The limas were skipped over too, but now, I'll have to try them! Looks like I have a few new places to eat.

(I thought you'd say Dream Burger)

Oh'Mulligans caters at the place I work. I can get their food AND CHIPS every daggoen day if I want. You should come on over and I'll treat ya!

Babymoon is good. Dream Burger (yay Kenju!), Atsuka (down 54) rocks the Japanese, Neomonde (also down 54) does Lebanese just fine, and the Pita Palace (I'm pretty sure that's the name) east on 54 has the best hummus and tabouleh pita I've ever eaten.

My favorite non-chain place around here is Bullocks, over in Durham, Renn. I love their chicken dishes, Brunswick stew, and most of all their hushpuppies.

In Raleigh my favorite place used to be Bahama Breeze, a Caribbean themed chain restaurant owned by the same folk that own Red Lobster. I've not been there in a few years tho.
