5 Best...
Sparky Duck tagged me a while back for this one.
The rules: list the 5 best nights that you can recall.
I am culling my list to 'post college, adult' years.
1. February 17, 1995: I moved to North Carolina - from West Virginia. The temps in WV that day were somewhere around SEVEN, with ice and slush everywhere. I left WV sporting a turtleneck sweater, heavy jeans, wool socks, boots, mittens, etc. When I arrived in North Carolina, it was SEVENTY TWO DEGREES. The sun had just set, grass was beginning to bud, and flowers were almost ready to bloom. I felt slightly over dressed, but exhilarated. I quit smoking the same day, and it also happens to be Chachi's birthday.
2. September 5, 1995: When I realized the 'joke wedding' that Chachi and I had been planning (largely to freak my mother out) was really going to happen.
3. October 7, 1995: I married my best (and weirdest) friend. I still have the papers, the pictures, and the ring to prove it.
4. February 17, 2000: I found out that I was pregnant. I took six pregnancy tests (all positive, obviously) and panicked. I looked at Chachi, tears streaming down my face, and yelled "What will my parents think?!"
5. October 19, 2000: At precisely 9:32 pm, The Nooze was born. She was not at all pleased with the lights and commotion, and squawked and squalled with indignation. Until Chachi touched her hand lightly and whispered, "It's OK, Nooze..." She stopped crying immediately, reached up - and grabbed his finger with her little hand. The nurse looked at Chachi and said "Do you mind going to the nursery with us?!"
The coolest part of this little experiment? I realized that the five best nights of my life - for the past 12 years - have involved Chachi. Now THAT is a blessing!

Very cool memories. And you even glossed over the labor pains! :P
That is a blessing. To have your weirdest friend also be a lifelong partner--and with strange powers over babies to boot.
that is freaking beautiful.
I mean it.
Yay, Chachi!
I know two new mothers right now that could use some of Chachi's baby talents...
Cool meme! and not only did they all involve Chachi, they all took place here in NC! YAY!
My baby's birthday is 10-18.
I love your list. So sweet! The Evil Twin and I were also married in October (30th), but in 1993. I think it's the best month to get married. :-)
awwww....
So sweet!!
:o)
Now that was a classy 5 nights meme
I just love your reaction to the positive pregnancy tests!
what was Chachi's response to that little query?
I'm still laughing..
JC-
He looked at me like I was crazy.
Then he said, "Uh, we've been married for FIVE YEARS. I'm pretty sure they suspect we're up to SOMETHING!"
Then he laughed.
As you can see, I found out that I was pregnant ON HIS BIRTHDAY.
Did I just die and go to Heaven?? You offered to come and cook for me? I can't believe it - but you offered and I'll take you up on it. Cravey says she'll bring the drinks!! I think I am free on the 29th, but I'll have to let you know. WOW, I'm excited!
Awesome responses, Renn.
I found out I was pregnant on Mothers' Day. Pretty darn cool.
Awww...that Chachi...
Hey, thanks eversomuch for the hysterical Demotivational card! It was the first thing that was hung in my new cubicle.
You are the best!
I'm a little teary-eyed. That is soooo very sweet.
Coincidentally, your anniversary is on my honey's birthday.
Awwwwwww......
The pregnancy test thing? Hilarious. Like gasping, teary-eyed hilarious. Hee!!
Great memories, and congratulations on a happy and successful relationship!
