So Much for HIPPA...

Dear STD Counseling Employee,

Before leaving voice mail messages regarding STD test results AT AN OFFICE, do me a favor. Be sure that the name attached to the OUTGOING VOICE MAIL matches the person you're calling.

Especially if you are leaving the PERSON'S FULL NAME in the message.

...And Chandra X?* Good luck with the gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Much Love,

Rennratt

*Not her real name.

Damn!! Chandra said the itching and drainage was most likely due to my cold and not anything more serious. I'll never trust that Ho again!!

that IS bad....

People have NO CLUE...I was at The MotherShip the other day, (AKA Target) when a disembodied voice came over and said, "Sheila, your Valtrex refill is ready....." You could hear the store collectively GASP....

I hope "Sheila" sued them, or at least slapped someone...

Entirely unprofessional, but hysterical nonetheless.

OMGosh, did you call them back and let them know about their error or are you now responsible for telling Chandra about her "problems"? LOL.

Oh, wow. That break so many different kinds of HIPPA regulations right there. So what am I bothering with all my HIPPA training for? At least *I* would know not to do that!! Sheesh.

And did you pass on the message? Or let the people calling know? That must have been an interesting conversation!

We would receive numerous faxes at the "jewelry store" where I was working, from medical labs, doctors offices - and I think I spent an equal amount of my worktime, calling these places, to reiterate the fact that the number they were using was a commercial establishment. The reply was always the same - "so sorry." Again, the faxes would still come through. Morons.
