R.I.P.
Big Boss passed away unexpectedly over the weekend. We didn't always get along, to tell you the truth. He was the kind of boss that simultaneously made you crazy AND inspired hope. Destruckto will never be the same.
When I was first diagnosed with my illness, I was given scary statistics, frightening outlooks - and DOOM. I left the doctors office with piles of paperwork, convinced that I needed to write out my will IMMEDIATELY, go into seclusion, and quietly wait to die. I returned to the office terrified. Big Boss took one look at me and beckoned me into his office. He insisted that I close the door, sit down and unload.
So I did.
He left the office for a 'last minute meeting' just moments after I went back to my office. He returned two hours later, carrying grocery bags of tissues, germ gel, Lysol and - for whatever reason - latex gloves. My perpetually sick co-worker was forbidden from meeting with me in person; all communication was to be sent via voice mail or email. I'll never forget that.
May your days be filled with golf and rest, and may you NEVER have to deal with one-offs again.
Rest in peace, Big Kahuna. Your Crazy Lei adorns the tree this year, in memory of your wilder side.

A nice tribute, Renn. I think everyone should have a boss like that.
Sorry to hear that, Renn... sounds like a good man.
So sorry for your loss, dude.
I'm so sorry.
Sorry for your loss.
A lovely remembrance.
OK. I'm a bad blog friend. But my main resolution this 2013 is to be better.
Sorry to hear about Big Boss. That had to be horrible.
